About the play
The action takes place in the library of Marshwood House, East Kent, in July 1951 – the year of the Festival of Britain
The play is a comedy in three acts, written in 1951 and set in a large country house in Kent.
The aristocratic Marshwood family feels threatened by the impending marriage of the young lord to a Hollywood actress. But when her film star ex arrives at their country house, who knows what will happen next
